Description: Tyrannosaurus rex is among the most iconic dinosaurs and the largest known terrestrial carnivore of latest Cretaceous North America. Its deep, reinforced skull and thick, serrated teeth could deliver bone-penetrating bites suited to both predation and intensive bone processing. Although its forelimbs were very small relative to body size, T. rex is inferred to have possessed an acute olfactory system and well-developed stereoscopic vision, traits consistent with an apex carnivore operating across forested coastal plains and seasonally open ground.
